Changing PHP settings in Wordpress Hosting Packages

While cPanel allows access to PHP INI configuration manager, Wordpress hosting accounts do not have a cPanel for you to make these changes. This article will explain how to make changes without needing access to the cPanel. Should you need more assistance, please feel free to reach out to us to assist you.

You can change PHP settings by following 1 of these steps:

Option 1:

  1. Go to
  2. Click on Hosting
  3. Click Manage on the package/domain you are working on
  4. Click cPanel Tools on the left menu
  5. Click File Manager
  6. Open/Edit the .htaccess file

You can use the following in the .htaccess to make php changes.

safe mode = Off
memory_limit = 256M
max_execution_time = 30
max_input_time = 60
post_max_size = 64M
upload_max_filesize = 64M
enable_dl = Off
register_globals = On
magic_quotes_gpc = Off

These changes will need to be placed at the TOP of the .htaccess file for it to work.

Option 2:

Alternatively, you can create a php.ini file in the directory you are working in and place the text there to load.
